Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam or commonly referred to as APJ Abdul Kalam is an aerospace engineer who was the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.
He is also a professor in aeronautical engineering and the first Chancellor of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Thiruvananthapuram (IIST).
